The Dorset Hip Clinic aims to provide a comprehensive hip arthroplasty service.

From initial assessment to preoperative planning and education, inpatient care and post operative mobilisation and hydrotherapy, your wellbeing and rapid recovery is our goal.

The Dorset Hip Clinic, based in Dorchester, provides Consultant assessment and treatment of adult hip disorders. Your consultant, both assessing, and when necessary, performing your surgery is Mr Peter Ward.

Peter Ward trained in medicine at Bristol University. He went on to complete a Masters Degree in Oxford, studying limb development. Working as a registrar in the South West he completed his specialist orthopaedic training.

In 2000 he spent a year as a senior lecturer and Arthroplasty Fellow in Adelaide South Australia specialising in hip surgery.

Appointed as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Dorset County Hospital in 2001, Peter Ward has developed a revision and resurfacing service in Dorchester. Complex revision work could now be undertaken locally in West Dorset.
Currently leading the department as the Clinical Director of the Musculoskeletal Service in Dorchester County, he also works at the Winterbourne BMI Hospital.
